Just a few words to update you on the progress of this ministry. First, we are grateful to Barry David and the Elders at Landmark Community Church for loaning us the original master tapes containing Dr. David D. Allen’s sermons. We have been transferring the original cassette tapes to digital files for over a year and a half now and have successfully transferred over 1700 of Pastor Allen’s sermons. Keep in mind that they have to be transferred in real time one at a time. We have focused more on this part of the process rather than add sermons to the site because of the age of the tapes. We felt that time would be best spent on the preservation of the existing sermons on these very old tapes before they deteriorate any further. The earliest sermons we have found so far on these cassettes are from 1972.

The next step in this process is to enhance the sound quality to make them sound as current as possible. To do this we remove all background noise such as tape hiss, broadband noise and other unwanted noise from deterioration. We use state of the art noise reduction software that is currently used in the film industry. Once the unwanted noise is removed to the best of our ability the next step is to balance and mix the sound using a very sophisticated recording studio software program with various equalizer/ mixers etc. to get the best possible and most consistent sound we can. We always keep the original untouched file so we can always go back if need be and start from scratch. The sound quality on the original “Master” tapes various dramatically from tape to tape and with this hardware and software we have obtained, we can get most of Pastor Allen’s dialog sounding pretty good. There is a huge learning curve to operating this and we are learning more and more all the time. We want these sermons to sound as pleasant as possible to listen to. The Titus series has had all of this done.

The Holy Spirit has led Pastor Allen’s sermons across the Atlantic Ocean to John Doyle of Cape Missions in South Africa. Cape Missions oversees and helps out over 180 Pastors and Leaders in that country. Many of these Pastors and leaders do not have a formal education but have a huge heart for the Lord. Pastor Allen’s clear and concise expository teaching brings an education to these faithful people. We have sent discs with The Gospel of John, Ephesians and the Titus sermon series to Cape Missions. Cape Missions then makes copies of these discs and distributes them to the Pastors and Leaders. Hundreds of discs with Pastor Allen’s sermons have been distributed so far and well received. This we pray is just the beginning.

“So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” Isaiah 55:11

We will also be adding much of Chuck Ohman’s brilliant music to the site. We keep in regular contact with Mr. Ohman and have his blessing to use his music. If you have not done so yet. Click on over to the music section and listen to Chuck’s version of “He Hideth My Soul.” When I listen to that my mind drifts back the old auditorium services. Absolutely fantastic!

The image on the home page is a shot I took of the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Calpe Spain. The rock jetting out of the sea is so majestic and far to the right is this little boat. Just seemed like a fitting image for this site.

Ralph Greenhow from Winnetka Bible Church near Chicago will be adding blogs at this spot regularly so check back often. Ralph and his wife Miriam are originally from Windsor Canada and often listened to Pastor Allen on the radio back in the day.

Please continue to pray for this ministry, we need your prayers.

  1. Good morning! I would like to thank you profusely for all the work you have done in this new ministry. I have not found someone like Pastor Allen who explains Scripture so clearly and succinctly. It has been years since I’ve heard his voice but a flood of memories cross my mind of sitting in the old and new auditoriums listening to him speak. Again, thank you for doing this for us.

  2. I am 87 years old and grew up in a Christian home in Chatham Ontario. I remember that my parents’ radio was always on to a radio station from Detroit Michigan, broadcasting the gospel. David Allen was one of the preachers we heard and Dad even took our family to Michigan a couple of times so we could hear David Allen in person.
Finding this website today brought back memories of those days and I look forward to listening to Rev. Allen’s preaching again. Thank you SO much!!!
